Crunchy almond turrón is a delicious mix of roasted almonds and sweet honey nougat, a creation of the master confectioners at Vicens who have been making turrón candies by hand in the village of Agramunt since 1775. Vicens roasts almonds fresh daily and blends them with local honey, egg whites, and sugar. While still warm, the mixture is formed by hand into small rounds, and packaged individually. Historically, turrón has been a staple at Christmastime, but now it is enjoyed in Spain throughout the year.

Torrons Vicens was founded in 1775 in the town of Agramunt in Catalonia. This special Spanish candy has protected status (PGI) to make sure that the quality and the candy-making tradition are protected from imitations. Turrón with this status must follow strict methods and must be made in the village of Agramunt. In 2016, Angel Velasco, the master turrón maker at Vicens, was awarded the title of “Best Pastry Chef in the World” at the prestigious Madrid Fusion food show.
