This green olive and red pepper pâté from Despensa la Nuestra is made by hand - blending hand-picked manzanilla olives and fire-roasted piquillo peppers with extra virgin olive oil, aromatic herbs and a touch of anchovies. The sweet and smoky zing of the piquillo peppers and the tang of the anchovies make this an exceptional pâté.
This green olive and red pepper pâté is a truly unique condiment that will add flavor to an endless number of dishes. Spread it on crackers and top it with cheese and a slice of piquillo pepper for tapas. Thin the pâté with extra virgin olive oil to use as a dip for bread or swirl it into vinaigrette for a great savory salad. A touch of this creamy pâté will enhance grilled meats and fish and makes a delicious spread on your favorite sandwich.
Our olive and piquillo pepper pâté is made by Despensa la Nuestra, a small company located in Córdoba. Despensa la Nuestra was formed by a group of women when the local sugar beet factory closed. By opening Despensa la Nuestra, they were able to create both jobs and authentic, easy to prepare Spanish food.
Despensa la Nuestra employees start their work day before dawn so that they are finished in time to collect their children from school. The company was created in part to assist other Spanish women working outside the home. With the aid of Despensa products, these women are able to work and feed their families authentic Spanish dishes at home without sacrificing their valuable free time.
Despensa products are carefully and thoughtfully produced to taste as close to homemade as you'll find without having prepared the food yourself. Despensa uses only top quality produce from their own farm and never adds any coloring or preservatives to their products.
