When we visited the owner, he told us the secret of their recipe. He asked his wife to give him the recipe for the gazpacho that her family had enjoyed at home for generations. His wife told him that there was no written recipe, of course! It was passed down orally from mother to daughter over the years. So, he sat quietly in the kitchen with a pad of paper and watched her add each ingredient, taking notes - this many tomatoes, that much garlic - until he had recorded this treasured family recipe!
