This thinly sliced Ibérico ham by Montaraz comes from pasture-raised Ibérico pigs. It has a rich complex flavor and beautiful marbling that can only be found in Spanish Jamón Ibérico. Serve at room temperature with good bread and your favorite wine.
Unlike most Ibérico hams in Spain, this jamón comes from only pasture-raised pigs. The animals spend their days wandering the countryside of western Spain eating grass, grains and a few acorns. No nitrates or other preservatives are ever used in the process. The only higher grade available is the Jamón Ibérico de Bellota, which comes from Ibérico pigs that feed on massive quantities of acorns during the montanera, or acorn season.
Montaraz is part of the DOP Extremadura, and every step of the process from the sourcing of the pork to the final packaging is supervised by a regulatory board to ensure highest quality.
Since 1890 Montaraz has aged fine Ibérico hams in western Spain. Four generations of family expertise goes into the curing of each jamón.
