The Bonito del Norte tuna from Yurrita is known for its exquisite flavor and texture. The tuna is line-caught in the Bay of Biscay using traditional fishing gear, respecting Marine Reserves, and following sustainable fish management practices. Whole loins are cooked in water, sliced by hand, and are packed covered with the best olive oil. This tuna is packed in a glass jar for a beautiful presentation.
D. José Miguel Mauleón founded Yurrita Group in 1867. More than 150 years later, the Yurrita family continues to own and operate the business in the town of Mutriku (Guipúzcoa) on the Bay of Biscay. Yurrita is the oldest still operating conserva company in the Basque Country.
