This block of rich dark chocolate is studded with crunchy toasted almonds, along with the subtle flavors of Maldon sea salt, black pepper, Spanish pimentón and tomato powder. These notes underlie the rich dark chocolate and almond flavors, bringing the whole thing to an unexpected and delicious place. This bar is large enough to share, so serve it at your next wine and cheese party or for dessert alongside coffee or a glass of Cava.
Torrons Vicens was founded in 1775 in the town of Agramunt in Catalonia. This special Spanish candy has protected status (PGI) to make sure that the quality and the candy-making tradition are protected from imitations. Turrón with this status must follow strict methods and must be made in the village of Agramunt. In 2016, Angel Velasco, the master turrón maker at Vicens, was awarded the title of “Best Pastry Chef in the World” at the prestigious Madrid Fusion food show.
